Galvanized pipe consists primarily of a base metal and a zinc coating. The base metal is typically steel, which offers excellent strength and ductility. The zinc coating is a layer or layers of zinc-iron alloy deposited on the base metal surface via an electroplating or hot-dip coating process. This alloy is not only aesthetically pleasing but, more importantly, offers excellent corrosion resistance, significantly extending the service life of the steel pipe.
