The formula for calculating steel coil weight is: Weight (kg) = Width (mm) × Thickness (mm) × Length (m) × Density (g/cm³) × 0.001. For example, for ordinary carbon steel (density 7.85 g/cm³), if the coil is 1000 mm wide, 1 mm thick, and 200 m long, the weight = 1000 × 1 × 200 × 7.85 × 0.001 = 1570 kg.
Note: 1. Density values need to be adjusted based on the material (for example, stainless steel is 7.93 g/cm³);
2. Length is generally calculated based on the outer diameter of the coil using the following formula: Length (m) = (Outer Diameter² - Inner Diameter²) × 0.7854 ÷ Thickness (mm) ÷ 1000;
3. The industry allows a ±5% weight tolerance. We currently offer metal cleaning products in stores. These products use a high-efficiency liquid formula suitable for pre-painting treatments and are available in 25 kg barrels for industrial use.
