Thicker walls combined with fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) or 3LPE coatings effectively resist the aggressive H₂S, CO₂, and organic acids commonly found in wetland environments.

Under city streets, AWWA C200 spiral welded pipes and ASTM A53 ERW pipes are the preferred choice for potable water mains, fire protection rings, and wastewater force mains.

Internal cement-mortar lining or food-grade epoxy coating fully complies with NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking-water safety, while external polyurethane, extruded polyethylene, or anti-corrosion tape wrap provides long-term protection against highly aggressive urban soils, groundwater, and stray-current corrosion commonly found in metropolitan areas.
